Lake Como - Italy

Como is a small collection of villas in a mountainous region north of Milan on the edge of the largest lake in Italy called Lake Como. Our trip included train tickets there and back, a boat ride around the lake, and a tram ride to the top of one of the peaks for a gorgeous view of the area, all for fifteen euros. We started out at the pier, and got on a boat for a thirty minute ride around the main part of the lake. The weather was lovely, and I love being on a boat so I had a great time. I saw a sailboat and some fisher men in boats near the middle of the lake, in addition to some great views of the shoreline. Their Duomo is beautiful, and has quite the impressive detail work, with carvings and gargoyle spouts. Not as impressive as Milan's Duomo, but I image few cathedrals are. While in this area, I also got to talking with a local nun. She didn't speak English but she did speak Spanish, and I was able to understand that she had recently moved to Italy from Argentina. This was easily the highlight of my day, as she was so lovely and friendly, despite the language barriers.
